Paper title: Foreign bank entry on banking and countermeasures in China
Abstract
China's banking sector is currently experiencing the most important open stage, that is in a transitional period after WTO accession, with the advance of opening up the process, competition between foreign banks will be fully the scope and extent of broadening and deepening, for domestic banks in the increasingly fierce competitive environment, survival and development, we must build on the efficiency of core competitiveness. Competition through the introduction of foreign banks to promote its banking sector to enhance the efficiency of the banking sector in emerging market countries generally open to the experience, but also the healthy development of China's banking sector to achieve an important means of long-term goals. Growing concern in recent years academics and opening up China's banking sector efficiency and evolution of its relationship banks, some research from a competition point of view to improving the efficiency of Chinese banks are analyzed. But the lack of existing research of the following: Most of the studies is the general descriptive.The lack of specific factors, mechanisms and conditions of in-depth analysis; emphasis on qualitative analysis and policy analysis, empirical analysis or more a lack of empirical research. From the perspective of international competition, focusing on the evolution of the efficiency of China's banking sector two core factors - the pressure of foreign competition among banks and domestic banking market power in the late 90s through since the strength of Foreign Banks in the Chinese banking market competition structure , the efficiency of domestic banks, the level of the relationship between changes in the empirical analysis by the relevant conclusions, and made the transition period, reform of China's banking sector efficiency and policy recommendations.
