Abstract
Development of static var compensation technology in power systems is summarized in detail. Principle, advantages and disadvantages of static var compensation technology are analyzed.
It is highlighted that VSI-based SVG using PWM technology which is able to compensate dynamic reactive power,stabilize node voltage and provide real power for a short period of time,
has some advantages such as compact structure, simple control, little harmonics and high speed regulation, and has a comparation with static var compensation in performance.
Based on instantaneous reactive power theory, this text use a method of direct control of the current , choice of coordinate system dq0 for transformation to rapidly detect the reactive signals. By analyzing the output of the quality of the reactive power,it describes the process of the dynamic working .
The SVG system is simulated using PSIM, which shows the excellent dynamic and static performance of the system and proves the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.
