China is a great power nation of manufacturing in the world. With the rapid development of Chinese manufacturing industry, the fierce competition has forced the enterprises to improve their level of quality management. However, at present, the quality management in a lot of traditional manufacturing enterprises still stays in post- inspection stage. They paid more attention to Quality Control rather than Quality Improvement. Six Sigma continuous improvement is a rigorous, data-driven, decision-making approach to analyze the origins of problems and improve the process capability to the six sigma level. Since its birth in Motorola in 1980’s, Six Sigma has been widely used in organizations of various fields, and has gotten notable effect. However, in China it is in start stage and there has huge space for research and develop. By studying the DMAIC process of Six Sigma, this article aims to design a quality improvement system with the help of Minitab software and some quality tools. This system based on the present situation that combines the industrial tile production workshop of a manufacturing enterprise of ceramic tile, and it tries to explore a way for traditional manufacturing enterprise to carry out their work of quality improvement.
