Diabetes is a common lifetime chronic disease. Not only might that cause death and disability but patients will lead to social and family economic burden as well. Blood sugar control and drugs have a certain relationship; however nursing intervention is also very important. By applying nursing intervention, it can help patients master diabetes related knowledge, ability and management of lifelong treatment, thereby long-term effective controls blood sugar; thus, improve their quality of life. With the improvement of living standards and the aging of population, the elderly diabetes rates are rising. Elderly who aged from 60-80 tend to have a higher chance of getting diabetics. Through nearly 2 years of hospital experiments in 89 cases of patients with diabetes. We randomly divided patients into trial groups and control groups. The trial group was adopted to accept health education of nursing intervention by follow-ups. The control group was treated with regular clinic check-ups. The result of this shows that the elderly patients with diabetes who was educated with nursing intervention was way better than that of control group in blood sugar control. This shows that the elderly patients with diabetes who continued to receive health education of nursing intervention can improve the quality of life.
