Abstract
In the more than 100 years’ development of automotive history, auto body changes most. Auto body work is one of the most active in research and rapidly developing field currently in world’s automobile industry. Auto body manufacturing has a significant impact on vehicle production capacity to enterprises. Body-in-white is the carrier of the other parts, which is parts-based support based on "steel". In terms of the design cost on the car body is accounting for about half of the total cost of vehicle. It is usually constituted by 300-500 complex shape sheet metal parts, and high-volume and fast-paced welded together in 55-75 positions. When manufacturing, clamping anchor points are up to 1700-2500, and 4000-5000 as many as solder joints. The welding quality of BIW plays a decisive role in vehicle quality.
How to improve the welding technology and quality of BIW has become a major issue of automobile manufacturing. This article will start discussion from the BIW manufacturing process of welding, assembling, testing and quality management, and process index optimization in combination with the actual situation of producing Zotye 5008 in welding-installation factory, and explore the feasibility of the introduction of total quality control (TQC), and so to make targeted improvements.
