A STUDY ON THE PERFORMANCE AND STRATEGY OF THE MEDIA IN PUBLIC CRISIS: AN ANALYSIS BASED ON NEWSPAPER
ABSTRACT: Media are no longer simply the traditional government mouthpiece, but indispensable force in the public crisis management, and even determine the direction of the development of public crisis. This study analyzes the performance of the media in crisis communication such as "Wenchuan Earthquake" since "atypical pneumonia", summary of the media in different types of public response to crisis in different ways, explore its causes, and the basis of media in public Crisis coverage strategy. This study suggests that the spread of public crisis, the media guide for the transmission of information and opinion to appease public sentiment, maintaining social stability plays an important role. Access to information through books and on the analysis of case studies, summed up the crisis in the public media should be promptly reported that the initiative for discourse; establish a positive direction, the pursuit of positive social effects; balanced view, to eliminate bias, stability, the public mood strategy, can only play the media should function properly and correctly guide public opinion.
