Abstract
The harmonic oscillator model is a useful model in the physics,and has a wide range of applications in classical mechanics and quantum mechanics, such as molecular vibration, the vibration character of the nucleus surface vibration and the radiation field of vibration. In this paper, the dynamics of Gaussian wave packets is analyzed in one-dimensional harmonic oscillator potential, introduced split-operator method ,and the center location of several Gaussian packet with different initial momentum is simulated in one-dimensional harmonic oscillator potential according to split-operator method. The results showed that: the initial momentum of a Gaussian wave packet affects the center location as the same as the classical harmonic oscillator does.
