Title: HVDC-Light wind power grid stabilizing influence on the frequency ABSTRACT Because of pressure of environment protection and energy resources, wind energy is developing fastest among all kinds of renewable resources due to its low cost and technical maturity. Wind generation has been an important measure in improving economical operation of power system. As the basis of the analysis, wind speed, wind generators and wind farm are modeled. Wind generator model explains that how the Wind asynchronous generators work from the startup to the Wind speed faster than the rating. Response of wind generators to four kinds of wind speed is simulated and analyzed. In the course of wind farm modeling, the 9-MW wind farm is simulated by three pairs of 1.5 MW wind-turbines. The wind-turbines work in parallel. A temporary fault is applied at the low voltage terminals of one pair of the turbines. Finally the measures that can improve the operation performance of wind power system are studied, especially the way to reduce the voltage disturbance. That includes the Static Var Compensation device and the capacities parallel connection. They are the newest way to improve the voltages of the wind power system.
