Design of Rectangular Microstrip Antenna
[Abstract] Microstrip antennas are widely used in microwave communication receiver systems and in areas of measurement for its small size,light weight,simple structure,and other advantages.The paper introduces design process of a rectangular microstrip antenna at the center frequency of 3.0 GHz.The antenna parameters are calculated according to rectangular microstrip antenna design theory.Microwave circuits and communication system simulation software ADS (Advanced Design System) is used for antenna simulation.At first,the simulation results do not meet design requirements.Thus,to optimize the design parameters.ADS is applied to design the matching network for the antenna.Simulation and optimization results show that the rectangular microstrip antenna meet the design requirements at the center frequency of 3 GHz,the bandwidth reachs 2.93 percent,the gain reachs 4.45 dB,the antenna efficiency is 76.513 percent.
