ABSTRACT
Furniture is known as one of the world's top four consumer products, equivalent to home appliances, clothing, vehicles. Now China has become the world's largest producer and exporter of furniture, Zhejiang Province is the second largest province in production and exports of furniture. However, big does not mean strong, in order to avoid the trap of comparative advantage and acquire more trade benefits, our province’s furniture industry must speed up the transfer of trade structure. Therefore, it is of great significance to analyze the plight of furniture exports, strategy of trade industrial upgrading and the future competitive advantages.
In this paper, I make research on the Zhejiang’s furniture export industry. Firstly,I introduce the characteristics of furniture export and the characteristics of furniture industry, also affirm the comparative advantage theory’s enormous contribution to Zhejiang’s furniture exports. Secondly, I focus on exploring own weaknesses and external threats confronted by provincial furniture export industry. To make it further , I point out the inevitability of trade structure transfer with the comparative advantage defects、the transfer of dynamic comparative advantage、new trade theory as well as practical problems described in Zhejiang furniture export. Finally, I formulate trade strategies and specific measures to carry out the trade structure transfer.
