In modern times, Postfeminism is increasingly overt as a theoretical platform. Recent academic researches have been devoted to the influence of postfeminism upon mass culture, film and media studies, or postfeminism impacted, facilitated, and highlighted by media, which are always among those controversial and contested intergenerational issues. This article, written by Rosalind Gill from London School of Economics, is published in European Journal of Culture Studies. Through translating this article, the author aims to conduct a detailed research into postfeminism, with a view to achieving an in-depth understanding of it, which in return, can be used to analyze contemporary cultural products. The article Postfeminist Media Culture: Elements of a Sensibility has attempted to summarize the elements of a postfeminist sensibility. The term postfeminism has been a preva lent word for years and people use it a lot, though, with little agreement about what is postfeminism, or knowing what features postfeminism. With a view to changing this status quo, the author, by writing this article, wants to give a specific definition to postfeminism with media forms being an auxiliary tool. By claiming that postfeminism is a sensibility, the author does not cling to several popular films themed with postfeminism alone, but resorts to varieties of other media forms, such as talk shows, lad magazines, female literature, as well as advertising, in the hope of making postfeminist media culture known to a larger number of reading public. On balance, there are two major parts in the thesis: 1. Translation of the article which corresponds with Introduction part. 2. A comment by the author on postfeminist sensibility.
