The Induction of β-galactosidase in Escherichia coli
Abstract: β-galactosidase is an endogenous enzyme in wild type E.coli, and it is transcribed from the lacZ gene. The lacZ gene is a widely used reporter gene and these promoter fusions have been used in the study of various transcription and expression of genes in different conditions by quantifying β-galactosidase activity. This study mainly through the medium of E. coli added IPTG, to induce expression of β-galactosidase enzyme and test their estimates of the activity and induced effects. The β-galactosidase enzyme synthesis of cells increased not significanthy in 10 minutes, After IPTG was join into the culture; However The β-galactosidase enzyme synthesis increased signifiamthy after 40 minutes.
