Study on the Preparation of β-Chitosan of Sepia Shell
Abstract: Sepia shell was chosen as the raw material for the extraction of β-chitin. The optimal design of the deacetylation conditions of β-chitin which used to prepare β-chitosan was studied in this paper . The influence of the deacetylation temperature, deacetylation time, and sodium hydroxide concentration on the degree of deacetylation(DD) of deacetylated products prepared from β-chitin were discussed . A L9 (33) orthogonal table was used to complete the preparation of β-Chitosan . The results revealed that the DD values of β-Chitosan increase as the deacetylation temperature, deacetylation time, and sodium hydroxide concentration increases. Among these three factors, the sodium hydroxide concentration influenced the results significantly, and the second was the deacetylation temperature. The result showed that the most suitable and proper reaction conditions of deacetylation was that: the concentration of sodium hydroxide was 60%, the deacetylation temperature was 110℃, the deacetylation time was 4 hours, and the DD of the product was 85.92%.
