With the coming of economy and manufacture globalization, the supplier chain is getting more and more important in the automobile industry. The enterprises are facing an increasingly dramatic market competition, the raw material price is increasing constantly, the uncertainty and individuation of customer demand is increasing, the products life cycle is reducing and structure is becoming more and more complex. Under this circumstance, the main competing body already changed from competition between enterprises to that between supply chains. Supplier as the primary link in the supply chain are increasingly playing more important roles, supplier management shall be one of the important content of enterprise management.
In this paper, it first sums up the basic theories of supply chain management and supplier management, then conduct a comparative analysis of supplier relationships between the traditional environment and supply chain environment, which stand out the importance of supplier management. Analyze these problems and reasons from the discussion of the present situation of supplier management in China's auto industry. Then put forward to better methods from supplier management foundation work, supplier category management, strengthen information exchange and supplier selection approach, constructing supplier selection refinement indicators and a hierarchical structure model, using AHP to handle supplier selection and eva luation. Finally, sum up this idea, and also look forward to provide a reference for other companies in the same field.
