Abstract
Digital holography is a new discipline which takes the traditional holographic technology as the foundation, unifies the computer technology and electron image technology. With the development of CCD image formation technology, the digital holography has begun to fast developing. Being a new subject that appeared and develops the recent years, it obtains much attention of domestic and foreign scholars. Many researchers have carried out much work on digital holography, and seek solutions of each problem appearing in the research.
The following works have been done in this article:
(1) In this article, the traditional holographic technology, the principle and the development history of digital holography are introduced.
(2) The principle, the recording and reconstruction of the digital holography are expounded.
(3) The applications and the new development of digital holography are reviewed.
At present, the digital holographic technology is applied to many domains. Being a new technology, digital holography needs much research and experiments. We should try to apply it in new different domains. The development of digital holography in the future will be well, because of its irreplaceable merit.
