Abstract: Nowadays inter-cultural transmission and communication have become more and more frequent. On the other hand, a great number of Chinese neologisms with Chinese characteristics have appeared since China’s reform and opening-up. So translating those neologisms in a timely and accurate way plays an essential role in introducing and carrying forward Chinese culture. This paper selects some typical neologisms from Beijing Review, both bilingual and English versions, and analyses their translationing methods on the basis of German functionalism theory. Relative findings tend to be helpful for the future work of translation of Chinese neologisms.
