ABSTRACT
This paper first analyzes the life of Emily Dickinson briefly, including the poetess’ family background, her reclusive life and her rebellious thoughts, to illustrate the resources of her unique poetry. It then analyzes Dickinson’s unique language style and originality meanings by exploring the functions and significance of her language features, special psychological description, image and symbols. It finally leads the conclusion of her language style, status in America literature and her contribution as a pioneer of American modernism poetry.
