ANALYSIS ON CHINESE FILM INTERNATIONALIZATION
——FOCUS ON OVERSEAS MARKET STRATEGY OF ZHANG YIMOU'S FILMS
ABSTRACT:With nearly one hundred years’ development, Chinese film has been storied in history and gradually approved all over the world due to its artistic attainments. Zhang Yimou’s film, with highest internationalization level, has been highly approved and attracted much attention by the international filmdom for his contribution in different periods.
It is illustrated that the internationalization process of Chinese film has been started since the P.R.C was founded. However, it didn’t obtain enough popularity until the productions of the ‘Fifth Generation ’, such as Zhang Yimou, captured international film market. So the author investigates the overseas market tactics of Zhang’s film in three different history stages, respectively.
It is found that the combination of the capital and market is the symbol of Zhang Yimou’s film. It plays a special role in the world culture during the complicated and delicate development period in Chinese history.As one of the most important parts in thinking about the transition of Chinese film, various methods for development of Chinese film can be achieved in the future by analyzing the overseas market tactics of Zhang’s film.
