An Assessment of the International Competitiveness of
China Tourism Services Trade
ABSTRACT
Since in 1980’s, with the global economical center of gravity tilt to the service trade, service trade has been rapid development in the process of integration of world economy and has increasingly become the important measure criterion of a country’s international competitiveness. Since 1950, the world tourist industry has been an average growth rate of 7.1% per year. In 1992, global tourist industry revenues over the oil and auto industry to become the world’s largest industry, therefore, the world regarded the tourism as the key services industry in their services trade. In recent years, Chinese tourism services trade has been rapid development, however, due to its institutional structures cannot keep up with the pace of development, the tourism services trade facing many problems such as low-technology, scarce of higher production factors, etc. has causing obstruction for the international competitiveness of Chinese tourism services trade. Faced with the increasingly fierce international competition of tourism services trade, we should find a trade route which is conform to our country’s basic conditions so that it can enhance Chinese tourism services trade international competitiveness. In this context, this essay makes an assessment of the international competitiveness of Chinese tourism services trade. This essay discusses the international status of tourism services trade, use the analysis induction analysis the market share and TC index of Chinese tourism services trade, point out the international competitiveness status of Chinese tourism service trade, then use case analyzes method compared Chinese tourism service trade with American and French, point out the gap between Chinese and American and French. Finally, find out the reasons and put forward countermeasures and suggestions, I hope it is valid and useful for the future advancement of Chinese tourism services trade.
