Abstract: with the rapid development of modern chemical industry, chemical production scale and the increasing frequency of accidents and the corresponding improving, in order to reduce accidents, so to fault diagnosis of chemical production, the fault diagnosis technique is an independent interdisciplinary, and widely used in many fields. This paper mainly introduces the theory of fault diagnosis technology and industrial application status, tells the story of several major fault diagnosis method, and explains in detail the linear and nonlinear and distance discriminant analysis method and principle of the background. This chemical process of TE are introduced, and still use different discriminant analysis method of data computer programs, compared with the linear and nonlinear distance discriminant analysis method of data processing accuracy, then choose a good discriminant analysis method to compare the accuracy of different variables, a combination of variables, in order to realize the optimum in TE chemical process. Finally, the method for fault diagnosis was prospected.
