Abstract: In this research work, synthesis of the poly (long chain α-olefin), and the grafting copolymerization of homopoly(long chain α-olefin) and maleic anhydride by solution polymerization were studied. Study the use of spherical Ziegler-Natta-supported catalyst chemistry, triisobutylaluminum(TIBA) as catalyst, Dimethoxydiphenylsilane (DDS) as electron donors outside, by bulk polymerization method, in temperature of 60 and magnetic stirring coplymerisation long chain α-olefin polymer. See about the effects of the polymerization conditions, such as reaction time, the type and amount of catalyst, Zn / Ti mole ratio, polymerization temperature on the Preparation of 1-octene, 1-tetradecene copolymer of intrinsic viscosity and molecular weight. GPC and viscosity measured to characterize the structure and molecular weight of copolymer. Acid-base titration to characterize the grafted polymer MAN content, water contact angle to characterize the film surface hydrophilicity and antifogging effect.
