Abstract
Abstract: culture and language are closely linked, and language is the carrier of culture. Cultural awareness is the guarantee of appropriate use of language, and a good cross-cultural awareness is a guarantee of success. Therefore, it is necessary to set up a cross-cultural awareness in English teaching. Language is rooted in culture, vocabulary is the basic element of language, vocabulary is rich in cultural information.

The study of foreign language teaching in China has been nearly 60 years of history. Nowadays, the cultivation of intercultural communication competence in foreign language teaching has caused a lot of attention of many educators. How to deal with the relationship between cross cultural exchanges and second language learning is a problem worthy of attention and consideration. In today's education, foreign language teaching experts and scholars have debated the topic.
" Introduction to intercultural communication" refers to the activities of people in different ways to achieve the purpose of smooth communication. Cross cultural communication ability is cultivated in the traditional classroom teaching, the teacher often emphasizes the target language and culture too much. When students learn the knowledge of the classroom as a rule, once the face of the exchange of real objects, they often lack the ability to live in the field, the ability to cross cultural communication can not be improved.
