ABSTRACT
Stability analysis of embankment on soft ground is continually a heating topic in soil mechanics and geotechnical community. Stability analysis approaches of highway embankment on soft ground are formulated and analyzed in this paper.
In this paper, some kinds of limiting equilibrium technique are firstly introduced and the stability behavior of embankment on soft ground is analyzed. Furthermore,the suitable stability methods of analyzing embankment on soft ground is proposed while the determining methods of undrained shear strength of soft clays are reviewed. Finally, use the “slope” software to key study in the different degree of consolidation of foundation soil on the slope stability, and the corresponding analysis and comparison. Obtained, the higher the degree of consolidation is the higher slope factor of safety.
