Abstract: With the popularization of computer technology, multimedia network teaching, a novel teaching pattern, has been applied to primary school English teaching, which changes the traditional English teaching method and students' learning method. This thesis will analyze the present status of the application of multimedia network teaching in primary school's English teaching in China as well as the influence of this novel teaching method. A questionnaire is put into the essay in which the data are shown from the questionnaire, we discovered that although the new mode is a popular one,the teaching effect is not very good. The survey indicates that if we want to develop online English teaching successfully, teachers must convert their roles and make full use of the affluent teaching resources. Based on cultivating the students' ability to obtain information on their own, teachers should give the students more practice chances while imparting study strategies. Students should have correct study motivations and purposes and manage to make use of information resources reasonably and effectively.
